The Indo Romanian Council (IRC), established as a Non-Profit Organization under the Companies Act in India, operates as a Center of External Relations with a primary focus on fostering commercial ties between India and Romania, as well as Europe at large. Romania, being the 7th largest country in the European Union, serves as a strategic partner in this endeavor.
While numerous Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) in India share similar objectives, Mr. Akshey Gupta, the founder of IRC, contends that existing EPCs primarily support recognized and large-scale exporters. In contrast, IRC has been specifically instituted to offer a platform for all manufacturers to transition into exporters. This is seen by the Council as a crucial step for India to position itself as a global manufacturing hub and achieve the ambitious goal of a USD 5 trillion economy.
